Quick Summer Beauty Tips for Glowing Skin
- Wear SPF every day
- Stay hydrated
- Use lightweight skincare
- Keep makeup simple
- Protect your lips
1. My Top Summer Beauty Tip: Wear SPF Every Day Without Exception
One of the most important summer beauty tips is wearing sunscreen daily. Even on cloudy days, your skin is exposed to UV rays that can cause damage over time.
I used to struggle to find one that felt good on my skin, but once I did, it became part of my routine. I have been loving this lightweight mineral sunscreen that blends in easily because it does not feel greasy and works well under makeup. If you have been looking for something similar, you can also save 15% with code ADVOCATE15 if you decide to try it.

2. Stay Hydrated for Healthy Skin
Hydration is one of the simplest summer beauty tips, but it makes a big difference. When I stay consistent with drinking water, my skin looks brighter and feels healthier.
I try to keep a water bottle nearby as a reminder throughout the day. Small habits like this really do add up.

3. Refreshing Summer Beauty Tip: Keep a Face Mist Handy
This is one of my favorite easy summer beauty tips. A quick spritz of face mist can instantly refresh your skin when the heat starts to get to you.
I keep this refreshing face mist in my bag to revive makeup without smudging. It helps me feel more put together, even on the hottest days. You can save 15% on your first order with code ADVOCATE15, which makes it easy to try.

4. Choose Light and Breathable Clothing
What you wear can affect how your skin feels. Lightweight fabrics like cotton and linen help your skin breathe and keep you more comfortable in the heat.
I try to avoid heavy synthetic fabrics in the summer since they tend to trap heat. Choosing simple, breathable outfits makes a big difference.

5. Simple Summer Beauty Tip: Keep Your Makeup Light and Natural
Less really is more during the summer. Heavy makeup can feel uncomfortable and may clog your pores.
I usually switch to this lightweight tinted SPF that evens skin tone without feeling heavy. It gives just enough coverage while still letting my skin breathe.

6. Exfoliate Gently and Consistently
Exfoliating helps remove dead skin cells and keeps your skin looking fresh. It is one of those summer beauty tips that really helps your skincare products work better.
I stick to a gentle exfoliator once or twice a week. This gentle exfoliating scrub for smooth, glowing skin has worked well for me without irritating my skin.

7. Avoid Hot Showers
Hot showers can strip your skin of its natural oils, especially during the summer.
I try to use lukewarm water and always follow up with this daily moisturizing body treatment that keeps skin soft without feeling greasy. It has been a simple switch that really helped my skin stay glowing. If it is something you have been wanting to try, you can use code ADVOCATE15 for 15% off.

8. Wear a Hat for Extra Protection
A hat is one of the easiest summer beauty tips that often gets overlooked. It helps protect your face and keeps you cooler when you are outside.
I love throwing on a simple hat when I am out running errands or spending time outdoors. It is both practical and stylish. For more seasonal inspiration, check out 101 Summer Bucket List Ideas to Try.

9. Summer Beauty Tip: Do Not Skip Moisturizer
Even in the summer, your skin still needs hydration. The key is choosing something lightweight.
I have been using this hydrating moisturizer with clean ingredients because it absorbs quickly and does not feel heavy. It keeps my skin balanced without clogging pores. If you are thinking about trying it, you can save 15% with code ADVOCATE15.
10. Take Care of Your Lips
Your lips need protection too. Sun exposure can leave them dry and uncomfortable.
I always keep SPF lip balm in my bag for soft, protected lips. I also gently exfoliate my lips once or twice a week with this lip scrub to keep them smooth.

Excellent list of tips! Water is a must right? But face mist is something I discovered a few years back and cannot live without now! In my corporate life when I traveled it was in my 3oz baggie every week.
Yes! A face mist is a must to keep handy for a mid-day refresh.

Hi Sheenia!Thank you! Those summer beauty tips you are working on are perfect choices! Cheers to a fantastic summer season!!
Great information on keeping up with one’s beauty regimen during the summer months – I must pick up a fun new hat! One question: I’ve seen a lot of powder sunscreens (tubes with a brush). Do you have an opinion on these and, if so, do you recommend any brands? I thought the tubes would be helpful on the days I wear make up in the summer. Thanks for any insight you can provide – you are always so helpful.
Thank you, you are so kind! So glad you found these summer beauty tips helpful. Unfortunately, I am not at all familiar with using powder sunscreens. I use sunscreen daily as part of my skincare routine. I put it on just before putting on primer and follow with whatever makeup I’m going to wear. I prefer Crunchi’s Sunlight sunscreen because it is toxin-free, eco-friendly and it’s effective. It is a mineral sunscreen and leaves no white cast – you don’t even know you’re wearing it. If you live in the USA, I’d be happy to send you a sample to try. 🙂
Nice ideas and list!
Thank you 🙂
Lovely share, it`s easy to get away with dull, unloved skin in the winter months because everything is covered up but come summer months, we need our skin to look and feel it`s best because it`s out there for everyone to see and people can be mean with their comments regarding dull skin.
Now I have no excuse to walk around with my skin looking like winter skin, your tips are so easy to follow. Thanks so much for sharing.
My pleasure! Taking care of our skin during the warm and cold months is an important part of self-care and can help boost our confidence.
Thank you for the many great summer beauty tips. I like the idea to use a face mist on hot summer days! Brilliant for my Ohio hot days that are coming up!
My pleasure! A refreshing face mist will definitely be in order this week 🙂
I’m so bad at sunscreening and hydration. Thank you for these reminders.
Of course, Seriah. Maybe try setting a reminder on your phone or writing yourself a quick note as a gentle reminder to use SPF and stay hydrated.
These tips are great. I forget about sunscreen and I live in Florida. Thanks.
Thank you Mary Ann! So many people forget to use SPF. I incorporate into my morning skincare routine making it easy to remember.
Love the reminder to wear sunscreen!
I always forget to reapply to the tips of my ears and the part of my hair. Do you have a particular brand that you would recommend for mature skin?
Hi Heather! I love that you initially do use sunscreen on the tips of your ears and part of your hair!! So smart!!! I’ve been using Sunlight for over 4 years and absolutely love it! It’s a mineral SPF, without the nasty chemicals found in so many sunscreens. I apply it as part of my morning skincare routine. You can check it out here https://crunchi.com/products/sunlight?_pos=3&_psq=spf&_ss=e&_v=1.0&als=karenkasberg. If you decide to try it, be sure to use code ADVOCATE15 at checkout and save 15%.
These are great tips! I am always carrying my water jar everywhere. Lol Love thr tip of taking care of the lips. Great reminder!
Thank you, Dusty! I carry water with me everywhere too. It’s the perfect way to keep reminding yourself to stay hydrated during the warm summer months.
Thank you for these tips! I already do 7 out of 10! I did not know about the hot showers removing natural oils – I love hot showers, so I have to see how to ensure my skin stays healthy.
A hot shower is something I have a hard time giving up. I always make to sure moisturize my skin afterwards to lock in moisture.
Thank you for all of these very helpful summer beauty tips. I forget how much the sun and chlorine at the pool can damage, and it’s important to follow a summer beauty routine!
You’re so welcome, Debbie! Thanks for stopping by to comment.
