How to be Productive at Home: Tips for Feeling Motivated And Getting Stuff Done

Spread the love

How many times have you told yourself “I’ll start being productive tomorrow”? How many times have you said that you’re going to get things done today, but end up watching Netflix instead? We’ve all been there. It’s hard to be productive when we’re feeling unmotivated and don’t really know how to get started. In this blog post, we will share some tips on how to be more productive at home and finally get stuff done!

What does it mean to be productive?

Being productive means being efficient and effective in how you use your time, energy, and resources to achieve your goals. It doesn’t mean doing more things or being busy all the time. In fact, you can actually be more productive by doing less.

It’s important to find a balance between work and rest and to do what works for you. Some people are more productive in the morning, while others find that they get more done at night.  Admittedly, I am a true night owl and accomplish more in the evening.  Find what works for you and stick to it.

Here are some tips on how to be productive at home every day:

– Make a list of things you need to do and prioritize them. Break down big tasks into smaller tasks. By keeping tasks small you can avoid the feeling of being overwhelmed.

This is the monthly planner I use to plan and prioritize which works well for me.  It’s not only a planner but a beautiful journal as well.  (Use code Karen15Off for any new subscription.)

"to do" list to improve productivity

– Set a timer for a certain amount of time and

work on one task until the timer goes off. Then take a break.

– Get rid of distractions. Turn off your phone, close the door, and focus on what you’re doing.

– Take breaks when you need them. Stand up and stretch, take a walk, or have a snack. Do something that takes you away from the task at hand. (Check out this interesting article published by WebMD “Leisure Time Is Good for Your Mental Health, Productivity”

– Reward yourself for completing tasks. This will help you to stay motivated.

– Set realistic goals. Don’t try to tackle too many things at once or you’ll quickly become overwhelmed. Start with one or two small goals that you know you can accomplish and build from there.

– Create a daily routine and stick to it. This will help you to stay on track and focused on what you need to do. Make sure to schedule in time for breaks as well so that you don’t get burnt out.

– Create a positive environment for yourself. This means having a space that is clean and organized, where you feel comfortable working. Surround yourself with things that inspire you and make you happy. This will help you to stay motivated and focused on your goals.  (You can check out my post on how to declutter your workspace here.)
