Easy Chocolate Macaroon Cookies
More commonly known as chocolate crinkles. These cookies are a delicious addition to your cookie platter at Christmastime, but don't wait till Christmas to bake them. They are too good to wait for!
Ingredients
- 2 square baking chocolate (or 1 ounce)
- 1/2 stick butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/8 tsp salt
- 1/8 tsp vanilla
- Confectioners' sugar (powdered sugar)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees
- Melt chocolate and butter over low heat
- Add 1 cup sugar and mix well
- Add the eggs and mix well
- Add flour, baking powder, salt and mix well
- Add vanilla
- Place dough in refrigerator overnight
- Drop a teaspoon scoop into powdered sugar and roll into balls the size of a walnut
- Bake on cookie sheet at 350 degrees for 8 minutes
- Remove from oven and let cookies sit on cookie sheet for 1 minute so as not to crumble the cookie when removing from the cookie sheet
- Place cookies on cooling rack
- Recipe makes approximately 4 ½ dozen cookies
